Jewish Social Service Agency (JSSA) has been our Jewish community’s largest safety net provider for more than 120 years, helping more than 30,000 individuals and families of all faiths annually throughout the metro DC area meet emotional, social and physical challenges. JSSA offers a comprehensive range of services and programs for children, adults, individuals with special needs, seniors and families including: mental health counseling, care management, specialized employment, in-home support for seniors, support for Holocaust survivors, hospice care, professional trainings, Jewish chaplaincy and Jewish community outreach and volunteer services. JSSA also collaborates with many community organizations, schools and synagogues.

Rent-A-Mensch is project of the Jewish Social Service Agency (JSSA) that engages young Jewish (& Jewishly-connected) professionals to meet one-time or short-term needs of JSSA’s most vulnerable clients (Holocaust survivors, homebound seniors, young adults with special needs, etc.). JSSA can provide young professionals and their families, a variety of support services including (but not limited to) pre-marital and marital counseling, divorce and separation services, parenting programs and training, adoption support, bereavement support, specialized employment for individuals with special needs and early childhood services.
