Rachel: What brought you to DC?
Isaac: I was born in Washington DC and raised in Rockville MD. Left to go to Hofstra University in New York for school where I graduated with a B.A. in Political Science with a double minor in US History and international Geography. Moved back to the DC last December to work on Capitol Hill.
Rachel: What is your favorite thing about the DC Jewish community?
Isaac: I love that it is a young and extremely diverse community. It is great how most people here are people who moved here from all over the world. Everyone brings some of their home communities to Washington with them. Also, Washington offers so many options for people to express their Judaism either in a religious/cultural/political/or humanitarian way.
Rachel: What is your favorite Jewish holiday?
Isaac: Passover. You don’t know a Jewish feast until you eat with my family on Passover.
Rachel: What are your favorite DC activities?
Isaac: I try to get involved in a lot of activities to keep myself busy and meet new people. I’ve played softball on the Mall in the past. I’m starting to play hockey again which I haven’t done since college. Best thing in DC though are Caps games in the fall/winter/spring time. I don’t care if you are not a hockey fan the Caps are the best team in town! I go to as many games as possible.
