More volunteer opportunities – WEDNESDAY, 6/29

For those of you who weren’t able to make Yachad’s Mitzvah Day this past Sunday but want to take part in community service, the DC JCC has a number of great options this week.

On Wednesday, June 29, from 7:00 p.m to 9:00 p.m., Jews will gather to knit hats, scarves, gloves, and socks as part of the Handmade for the Homeless project.  Both experienced knitters/crocheters are welcome.  Please bring your own needles and RSVP here.  If you have questions about this event, please contact Sheryl at

If you want to contribute but cannot attend the event, feel free to contribute homemade woolens to the DC JCC. Contact Erica Steen at to make arrangements to drop them off.

Knitting not your thing? Never fear.  Also on Wednesday, June 29, at 7:00 p.m. the DC JCC will hold an informational meeting about tutoring English as a second language.  For more information, again contact Erica Steen.
