Washington Jewish Week hires new editor.

Washington Jewish Week, an award-winning weekly newspaper serving the fifth largest Jewish community in North America, has hired veteran journalist Phil Jacobs to become its new editor. Jacobs replaces Debra Rubin, who left WJW in February after serving as editor for 11 years.

Jacobs comes to WJW after having served as executive editor of the Baltimore Jewish Times for the past 14 years. “I am excited about this opportunity,” said Jacobs, 57. “I enjoyed my tenure in Baltimore, but saw this as a unique opportunity to help build on the successful history of WJW, and to help develop WJW to the world class-status it deserves.”

Congratulations Phil!  We look forward to continued coverage of the best Jewish community in the country!
